There are many ways you can help our rescue, from Volunteering, Fostering, or just being there to help support and fund raise
We are always looking for fundraising, fostering, volunteers, collection points, and generally supporters of our rescue. without these people, we wouldn't be able to help as many animals as we currently do.
How you can help
Fostering
It does take a special person to foster, sometimes it can be very rewarding but other times it can be heart breaking. Its caring for an animal for a short term, while we find their forever home.
To Foster, your must be over the age of 18, and live within 1 hour of CA222SW.
Be able to attend our vets (Egremont) for routine appointments and emergency care (Own transport is a must)
Have the time and the facilities to care for the animals, and the space to keep them away from your own pets, as history etc may not be known.
Be able to bring the animal to us for viewings, potential adoptions, or other reasons
All costs of food etc are covered by ourselves, and you will be given full support whilst fostering. Some fosterers choose to cover the food themselves and we are fully grateful for that, we do understand of course, that not everyone is able to. You would never be asked to cover any costs.
Fosterers understand that they do not own the animal and the animal can be taken back at any point, for any reason.
Volunteering
Volunteers come in many forms, whether you have a few hours to spare a week, or less, we appreciate the team we have around us.
We have Volunterers who help with the animals, mucking out, handling, etc, others help with transport, collecting animals for surrender, or collecting donated items, others, are on social media, helping us create awareness of our animals and our rescue. We also have Volunteers who act as drop off points, where people can donate food and bedding to. We also look for volunteers who give time to do fund raising and stalls at fetes and car boots, to raise awareness.
To Volunteer - we don't ask you to have a certain amount of set time available, all volunteers can work around their normal daily life. if you feel you can help in any way, we are always open to suggestions.
Fund raising
We are always looking for new ideas and new ways to fund raise, with no government help, we are self funded, with a lot of the cost coming from our own pockets, the rest from adoption fees and donations. If you have an event coming up, and can nominate us for your fund raising ideas, we can supply you with an official letter stating this. Also, volunteers to help with fund raising ideas, and getting out there are always greatly appreciated.
